Anzac Day 2016 at St.Simons

As you are all aware next Sunday 24th April will be a great day for the St Simon’s Community Football Club as we recognise Anzac Day.

In participation with the Victorian RSL & TLA worldwide (Formerly ESP) we will be celebrating 100 years of service provided by the RSL.   As a legacy to their 100 years our U17D team will be wearing commemorative jumpers to highlight the support provided by the RSL and to also have both our young and old exposed to the history & support needed for those within our defence forces.

It is a privilege that we are one of 100 clubs selected to wear the jumper and we must respect the day and do our best to help support the RSL.

On the day we will be fundraising and we are looking for volunteers to man the front gate and seek a gold coin donation upon entry to the ground , we will also be looking to sell Anzac day stock.

I hope & expect that each of the committee members & player families will get involved for this great initiative.

On the day the opposition coach will be selecting a player from our team who played the game in the Anzac Spirit and this medal will be presented at our family night later in the evening from 5pm onward.
